How-To: Record Audio For SeeSaw (Student MacBook Air)

Below is a step-by-step guide for recording audio on the Mac for SeeSaw.

 

Google Chrome

  1. When in SeeSaw, select the option to Record Video Screen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.32.23_AM.png
  2. You will be prompted by the Google Chrome browser to allow access to the camera and microphone. Click AllowScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.32.50_AM.png
  3. If the student clicked Block by accident, they will need to go into the Chrome Settings in order to unblock access to the Camera and Microphone.
    1. Select the three dots and click Settings from the Chrome menuScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.05.28_AM.png
    2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings and click Advanced2a.png
    3. Scroll down in the Advanced menu and click Content Settings3a.png
    4. Click Camera4a.png
    5. Click the Trash icon next to where it shows SeeSaw as blocked5a.png
    6. Click the Back arrow6a.png
    7. Click MicrophoneScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.15.29_AM.png
    8. Click the Trash icon next to where it shows SeeSaw as blocked7a.png
    9. Try recording again and make sure to click Allow when prompted for Chrome to access the microphone and camera.

 

Safari

  1. When in SeeSaw, select the option to Record Video Step_2.png
  2. You will be prompted by the Safari browser to allow access to the camera and microphone. Click AllowStep_1.png
  3. If the student clicked Block by accident, they will need to go into the Safari Settings in order to unblock access to the Camera and Microphone.

    2. Click on the Websites tabScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.25.04_AM.png
    3. Click Camera from the left side of the screenScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.25.09_AM.png
    4. Select the Deny dropdown menu and click AllowScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.25.18_AM.png
    5. Click Microphone from the left side of the screen
    6. Select the Deny dropdown menu and click AllowScreen_Shot_2018-01-11_at_11.25.34_AM.png
    7. Attempt to record again

 

QuickTime

  1. Navigate into the Applications folder and launch QuickTimeStep_1.png
  2. Once QuickTime is open, select File > New Audio RecordingStep_2.png
  3. Click the red Record button and begin speaking to record your voiceStep_3.png
  4. Once finished speaking, click the Record button again to stop recording
  5. Select File > SaveStep_5.png
  6. Give the recording a name and click SaveStep_6.png
  7. This file can then be uploaded into SeeSaw
